The tech terms you use left me confused. I still don't know how to apply skirting to my pier and beam house. I'm now an engineer. Just a woman wanting to improve the appearance of my home.😢

I have built houses out east. I am from Kentucky and I have also built in Tennessee and Ohio. Lots of pier and beam structures there but I am now living west of Fort Worth Texas and it seems that everything is slab foundatiins and the reason I was given is that the ground is so hard and with the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter, the ground expands and contracts so much that it is a necessity. My question is, would a pier and beam foundation hold up here and, if so, would the concrete piers have to be watered during the summer like the foundations have to be.

you selling the panel or solar? Talking too much. Show the thing in action. show it being installed. show it working. show it doing something. Not convinced.

Yeah, this is just a propaganda video. I arrived at this page because of a couple of ads for the product popped up on my Instagram. This guy was literally in one them. The other thing that tells me it's just propaganda is the water outlet next to him. An ad for that same device ALSO popped up on my Instagram! Not to mention he showed zero proof that the panel actually saved him any money on his power bills.

Using bad installs as reasons to dismiss vented attics is missing what a well-done vented attic does for you. First do not put your mechanicals in a vented attic. Put those in the basement or a mechanicals room if you can't build a basement. Secondly you can easily and very cost-effectively build a very well insulated ceiling/attic connection. Make the ceiling airtight and then literally dump cellulose on it. 2ft (which is overkill) of that is cheaper than insulating your roof as you describe. If you have a vented attic it is not a storage area, it is not a living space, it is not a mechanicals space, but even so it is cheaper and simpler than making your attic a conditioned space. You can vent and keep bugs and animals out at the same time. If you do condition your attic you must condition it as you describe. Condensation at the ridge must be dealt with so that Vapor Diffusion Port is critical unless you are constantly dehumidifying that attic space.

I was about to buy the flex angle grinder until a lowes employee told me it's not a good idea. Mainly the recall on the batteries. No one is buying the tools. I was glad the salesman was honest. I was looking forward to the grinder because it has a variable speed, and it is super light did a little digging and found out the compa y was bought by a Chinese corporation... it explains why the quality dropped

Building science has came a long way. Building a tighter home makes it some much more efficient. As long as you have proper dehumidification and an ERV, you should not have any issues. The next house i build will be a vented roof and not a vented attic.

I'm the tool DS at a Lowe's. Several months back, we had a recall on our Flex tools because of the battery failure issues they were having- had to send most of our stock back. We're restocked now so hopefully they got that issue worked out. I don't have any real feedback to offer as we very rarely have anyone purchase this brand in my area so I don't get any feedback from customers. I think the battery issue scared a lot of people away from trying them ? Anyway, good to hear they are a tool I can recommend to people. I'd like to get more of them out in the field to see how they hold up.

I just saw this post and completely agree with u. I am on the dewalt platform just simply due to their battery platform I just the other day bought the Flex hammer drill to try it and have to say I love the hard case love the drill love that it came with 2 batteries but when I opened the case I discovered that both batteries had a black goo substance on them I did see on line that their batteries do leak at times this goo but it's fine so I wiped them off processed to charge them and they both leaked on the charger so wiped them off again along with the charger and tried the drill like I said love the drill lots of power the turbo cut out fairly fast no big deal probably wouldn't use it much anyway I'm just disappointed with the batteries they kept leaking the goo

Weight doesn’t bother me cause I’m not using one tool all day as an electrician. I use an impact, hammer drill, recip saw, and oscillating tool on a regular basis but I’m never carrying it with me all day. I have the flex quick eject and I plan on getting those other 3 in the flex line once I start making more money. Also, usually when it comes to machines weight = quality

I’ve got the 1/2” high torque impact, 0 complaints. Great tool. Also have the impact drill and impact driver. Really like them both. One complaint with the different drill type platforms: they overheat super easy. Extremely powerful tools, but damn do they overheat a lot. In between 15minute uses, i usually have to stop and give the tool a few minutes to cool down to continue. That feels like a lot of wasted time.
